Connecting Faith, Education, and Community
Evangelist Dr. Carla Torrence is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, cherishing 43 years of marriage with her husband, Keith. She treasures her son Makiah, daughter Candace and her husband Tommy, and her beloved grandchildren: Elijah, Sianni, MaKaylah, Brooklyn, and Maliyah.
With 28 years of experience in information technology within higher education, Dr. Torrence holds a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science, a Master of Arts in Education, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership. She is currently part of the Future Instructor Training (F.I.T.) program at Cypress Community College, preparing future community college professors. In 2023, she collaborated with i.D.R.E.A.M. for Racial Health Equity, helping reimagine workforce readiness for individuals 55 and older. This work led her to co-facilitate an intergenerational communication presentation at NTEN-24 in Portland, Oregon.
A dedicated minister for over 40 years, Dr. Torrence has served as an Evangelist, Worship Leader, and Bible Teacher, ministering to women, the elderly, incarcerated mothers, and rehabilitation centers. She has led Home Bible Fellowships, prayer gatherings, and discipleship programs, encouraging others to grow in their faith. She also led a Women of Faith Bible Study at Cal Poly Pomona, where she has been employed for 28 years.
From 2004-2009, she hosted the “Time Well Spent” radio ministry on Gospel860 and KPRO 1570AM, inspiring listeners to invest time in God’s Word. Since 2014, she has led “R” Time Getaways, a retreat where women learn to Return, Renew, Reflect, Refresh, Relax, and Rest in God’s presence.
Her ministry, FellowshipLink, is a God-given vision to unite the Body of Christ—one fellowship at a time. Above all, her greatest joy is her relationship with Jesus Christ, and she prays that all will come to know Him personally.
